MEET OUR TEAM:
Dear Fellow Dog Lover,
Being dog owners our entire lives we understand the importance of having peace of mind when they are in the care of others. Since 2007, Metro Pets has been providing a reliable service that dogs and their owners can count on.
Metro Pets is certified, bonded, and insured. We are an accredited member of Pet Sitters Intl. Metro Pets dog walkers have passed background checks and are full-time employees. After hiring, Metro Pets dog walkers go through a 50-hour extensive training program where they handle dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities. They are trained to use various collars, harnesses and leashes to keep your dog safe.
Before service begins we arrange a free pet-family meeting where you will meet us and your dog walker. We will go over everything we need to know about your dog, their schedule, and their needs. You will receive a welcome packet that will contain local doggie discounts as well as your Pet Check™ login information and mobile barcode scanner. This enables you to receive real-time email updates time stamping when your dog walker clocks-in/clocks-out. You will also receive a full activity report at the end of each walk containing potty info, a map of the GPS tracked route of the walk and pictures.
We want your dog to have the best possible experience, which is why we provide personalized pet care and never do large pack walks. All dog walks are private one-on-one, with a sibling, or with a neighborhood buddy if an owner prefers. We are committed to getting to know your dog and establishing a genuine bond.
At Metro Pets we have one goal; providing the best care for your best friend.
My name is Yuruani Olguin, and I am a certified dog trainer. I officially pursued a career in dog training in 2009, when I enrolled at the Animal Behavior College. While studying to become a dog trainer, I worked as a dog walker. This daily interaction with dogs of different ages and breeds also expanded my knowledge about dog training.
My dog training is based on positive reinforcement techniques, with a humane approach. I take into account all aspects of each individual dog’s situation, including breed, background, temperament and—very importantly—household environment.
I am a member of the Association for Pet Dog Trainers, and I also work closely with several rescue groups, rehabilitating dogs with behavioral issues to help them find a forever home.
